  • Thespians headed to Nationals

    Students from Corsicana High School’s Theatre Department recently returned from the Texas State Thespian Festival in Dallas. The Texas State Thespian Festival is filled with Workshops, shows, and the chance to compete in various areas. Seniors, Julio Briceno, Helen Hibbs, Lexie Owen, Marc Speed and Juniors, Corbin Hill and Brittni Menard, competed in the group acting category with The Triangle Fire Factory Fire Project by Christopher Pierre. Within the time of five minutes, the students performed their scene and received a score of 19 out of 20. Based on their high score, the students are eligible to advance to National Competitions at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska in June 2017.  Congratulations to director Gloria McLuckie. She will be taking students to compete at the National level for the first time.

  • Hall and Vandiver sign with Navarro

    Congratulations to Corbin Hall and Chelsea Vandiver for signing a letter of intent with Navarro College. Seniors Chelsea Vandiver and Corbin Hall both were selected as the District 16-5A Pitcher of the Year for their respective sports in 2016.

  • FFA Team places in top 20 at State

    Congratulations to CHS FFA Radio Broadcasting team, who qualified and competed in the State FFA Leadership Contest. Out of 740 teams competing in the State of Texas, they are bringing home top 20 team State plaque. Congratulations to Jack Blanton, Tristan Rash and Grace Updegrove CHS FFA members.

    Radio Broadcasting is a speaking contest where students demonstrate their speaking skills using a mic system in front of a group of judges. They are judges on smoothness, effectiveness, and quality. They talk about an Agricultural issue that is relevant to their community.

  • CHS Marching Band walks away with straight 1 ratings

    After months of practicing and preparation, Corsicana High School Marching band competed at the Region 8 UIL marching competition on Saturday, Oct 22nd. The band received straight ones across the board from the judges for a perfect rating. The judges, other directors and bands in the region loved the “What Are You Afraid Of?” show and praised its creativity and how well the kids conveyed each of the fears through their music and visual movements. Congratulations to CHS Band for an excellent day.

  • Corsicana Tiger Football sets record

    Tiger Football team set a Texas record and tied the national record on Friday with their fifth OT game of the season. Winning them all has put Corsicana Tiger Football  in the number one spot in the 5A -District 16.  Good luck to our Tiger as they continue their season with games at Lindale and then the final district game against Ennis.
